Leaf Scan (“we”, “us”) makes an AI plant‑identification and care app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short and readable on purpose.
1. Information we collect
- Plant photos & content you capture or upload for identification, diagnosis, and Plant Doctor chats.
- Account information such as your email address, used to sign in and sync your plants across devices.
- Purchase & subscription data — your subscription status and transaction identifiers, processed through Apple and RevenueCat. We never receive your full card details.
- Basic usage analytics — anonymised, aggregated events (e.g. which features are used) to improve the app. No advertising trackers.
- Device & diagnostic data — app version, device model, and crash logs to fix problems.
2. How we use your information
- To identify plants, diagnose issues, and generate care advice and reminders.
- To operate your account, sync your data, and manage your subscription.
- To improve accuracy, reliability and the overall experience.
- To respond to support requests and important service notices.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your plant photos for advertising.
3. Third‑party services
We share the minimum necessary data with trusted providers who help run Leaf Scan:
- Apple — App Store distribution and subscription billing.
- Supabase — secure database and authentication for your account and saved plants.
- Anthropic — AI models that power identification, diagnosis and the Plant Doctor. Photos and prompts are processed to generate your results.
- RevenueCat — subscription management and entitlement checks.
- Resend — transactional emails (e.g. account and support messages).
Each provider processes data under its own privacy and security commitments.
4. Data retention
We keep your account data and saved plants for as long as your account is active. Photos sent for one‑off identification or diagnosis are retained only as long as needed to deliver and improve the result. You can delete individual plants or your whole account at any time.
5. Deleting your data
To request deletion of your account and associated data, email info@leafscan.app from your account address, or use the in‑app delete option in Settings. We action verified requests within 30 days.
6. Children's privacy
Leaf Scan is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.
7. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to safeguard your data.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, an in‑app notice.
